At the end of 2015, Deep Roots was commissioned by the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust to write four new songs based on music in their Montagu Music Collection, in celebration of the four family members commemorated in the Montagu Monuments at St Edmund’s Church in Warkton, and performed on 5th May 2016. The event was also recorded for release on CD and the internet.

Barb Jungr led the songwriting and arranging, along with our Choir Director Gareth Fuller, Ring of Fire, and musicians Mark Brennan and George Reilly.

The Prince’s Regeneration Trust are managing the Montagu Monuments Project on behalf of the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust and St Edmund's Church Parochial Church Council. This was a Heritage Lottery Fund project. Deep Roots’ involvement helped to explain and explore the significance of the Montagu Monuments to the public and everyone involved.

There is a great entry on the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust website about the project here.
