About Us

Fun, Enjoyment, Make New Friends
"We put a lot in and get a lot out"

Deep Roots Tall Trees (DRTT) is a Corby arts organisation led by Artistic Director, Neil Paris and Choir Director, Gareth Fuller, that aims to extend the relevance of music, singing and the arts to the widest possible local and regional audience.

Deep Roots Tall Trees was founded in 2012 by Ros Stoddart and jazz singer-songwriter, Barb Jungr, who was commissioned to write a song cycle for Corby. We recruited local singers and musicians with a range of experience and style, and since then we have gained wonderful commissions from Made in Corby to work with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and from the Buccleuch Monument Trust, as well as appearing at iGospel at the Royal Festival Hall, London, The Core at Corby Cube and performing for various concerts, charity functions and weddings.

Uniquely, our choir writes most of its own repertoire, having an active songwriting group Ring of Fire and musicians George Reilly and Mark Brennan led by Barb Jungr.

Our Woods is our latest collaboration, bringing together sound, movement and light to celebrate our town’s unique urban woodlands. It is a creative journey for everyone involved, who come together joyfully through song writing, singing, performing and arts activities, developing confidence, ability, skills and ambition – and particularly having a lot of fun.

VISION

DRTT works within the community and with professionals making music and art to a professional level, empowering members to achieve their full potential. Through inspiration and creativity, it bonds and elevates personal and group experience, and through performance and rehearsal makes new, strong and lasting connections.

MISSION

The aim of DRTT is to take everyone involved on a collaborative, creative and personal journey through song writing, singing, performing and the arts to develop confidence, ability, skills and ambition. We have a commitment to accommodating all sections of our community.
